![]() I should note that "Abilities" are: Silent Running, Shield, and Sonar.Įngine Efficiency Upgrade: Build this ASAP! Once built, you triple your driving distance. Some drain power insanely quick, and the Engine Efficiency Upgrade doesn't affect any Abilities power consumption, so use them sparingly and wisely. Only turn them on when you need them the most, and always turn them off when you don't need them. The Shield is a very important Cyclops upgrade for this reason.)Ībilities: Leave these off, always. Shutting down the Engine does indeed drop your noise output to zero, but if a Leviathan is already charging you, it won’t save you. (This is copy/pasted/edited from an older comment I made that is only about power consumption. Hopefully these tips save a few people's subs. There are too many threads of people having their cyclops significantly damaged that could have been easily avoided with a single button press. If you get hit, turn off the engine, let it go away, go repair. There's probably a lot more stuff that I haven't written down, but the most important one here is definitely Engine Off. If something doesn't appear on the radar, it can't damage you, and you can ignore it. ![]() Get ready to go fix a breach if you choose not to shield. Turn off your engine to prevent further attacks after it hits, or use the shield if you really want to. ![]() If it's red, the creature has noticed you and is on its way to attack. Speaking of the radar, the blip color means something. The shield is almost worthless, breaches are fast to fix but if you have plenty of energy or are in the ALZ with a Thermal Upgrade, you can save the time of going out to fix a breach by popping the shield if the blip turns red on the radar. Turn Silent Running on if you can see the Leviathan class creature on your radar, and if they get too close, shut down the engine, turn off Silent Running (your engine is off, no noise, it'll just waste your power) and wait for it to go away before restarting the engine. I only use Silent Running in the ALZ with the Thermal Upgrade, and even then you don't need it 3/4 of the time. Silent Running mode is a massive waste of power. It's incredibly simple to turn off your engine after an attack, watch the scary monster swim away, then repair the single breach you got from that single hit you took.Īlso, the smaller enemies like Crabsquid or Ampeels don't do nearly enough damage to even bring the Overshield (top 20 percent of HP, the regenerating bit) down unless there are multiple around your ship, in which case simply shut down your engine if a breach occurs, then go weld. or I just stop playing.Something that almost no one on here seems to know (with all those posts about their Cyclopses getting blown up and that) is that simply turning off your engine makes the Cyclops emit zero noise. I am certainly stuck until the devs come up with a console command prompt for us to play with the objects within the game so I could either delete the medkit or the sub as a whole. I also can't get it to appear inside the sub so I may grab it there. ![]() I have witnessed it poking its little taunting corners out of the sub's sides every so often as I attempted to wiggle free of my invisible confines, and when I went out to look at it did I get a nasty surprise there is no way to grab it from where it is positioned on my sub no way to knock it loose by ramming the sub with a seamoth, either. If you installed a medkit fabricator, like any smart person would so you have a healing station on long trips, then you may have caused the medkit that has a physical spawn to clip into the walls of the sub. Originally posted by MaxJacobusVoid:I have this problem, and have discovered the cause: A free floating medkit inside the sub's walls. ![]() Need command prompt to remove said medkit or sub as a whole. TL:DR Medkit fabricator spawned a medkit inside the walls of the sub, causeing it to act as an anchor to that point that the sub can't drive out of.
